A hidden gem of Mediterra: Parque Celestial

Among Mediterra’s stunning incredible one-of-a-kind amenities is something a bit simpler, yet just as valuable: more than eight miles of paved walkways and bike paths. The intimate nature of Mediterra’s neighborhoods provides the ideal setting for jogging, walking, and biking. Scattered throughout the community along these paths are uniquely themed neighborhood parks, offering the perfect place to explore or take a rest from your daily stroll.

Awarded the Florida Chapter Award of Excellence by the American Landscape Society Association, Mediterra’s Parque Celestial integrates astrological elements borrowed from Renaissance and European traditions with stunning picturesque landscaping offering visitors a range of visual and sensory features. This park in particular has several unique attributes that make it a wonderful pit stop or destination for a relaxing exploration.

Some of distinctive attributes of Parque Celestial include the Labyrinth and Sun Clock. A meditative spiral walking path, dubbed the Labyrinth, offers a unique visual element and a place to meditate in the peaceful surroundings. The Sun Clock, an interactive sundial, allows park guests the ability to tell the time of day by their shadow. The focal point of the park, the Stargazing Pavillion, sits on a hill overlooking the garden and natural preserves offering what its names suggests – a wonderful location to gaze at the stars at night.

The elements of the quaint parks throughout Mediterra offer some of the best settings for taking your daily stroll, and add to the allure and ambiance found only at Mediterra. Learn more about amenities available at Mediterra here.

Festive events to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Naples style

One of the reasons we love living in Southwest Florida so much (aside from the world-renown golf, white sandy beaches, temperate weather, breathtaking sunsets, destination shopping … you get the picture) is all of the wonderful “things to do” and places to experience. Many of Naples local businesses do an outstanding job of creating new experiences and offering relevant events to keep guests coming back for more, which is why Naples has so much to offer no matter what you are looking to do.

We thought it fitting to give you the rundown of some exciting events happening this weekend in honor of Cinco de Mayo (which for those of you that don’t know is Sunday, the fifth of May).

  • Agave Southwestern Grill and Tequila Bar is going all out for this year’s Cinco de Mayo celebration.  Join Agave under the tent May 3 and May 4 from 5-10 PM for tequila tasting, dancing, and festive food and drinks. If the “party” isn’t your style, you can still enjoy a hand-crafted, top-shelf margarita in the tequila bar and restaurant. Agave is located on Vanderbilt Beach Road just west of Airport Pulling Road.
  • Masa, one of Mercato’s newest dining additions, will be hosting a fiesta to celebrate the occasion on Sunday from 11-9 PM, including Mexican food, music, and drink specials. There may not be a more appropriate time to try out Naples’ newest contemporary Mexican cuisine, if you haven’t had the chance already.
  • Drive South down Livingston Road from Mediterra, Senor Tequila’s Fine Mexican Grill’s newest location will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo all weekend long (Friday thru Sunday) with special drinks and giveaways.

Of course, there will be plenty of other restaurants and bars near Mediterra and throughout the Naples area that will be offering a unique twist on the Cinco de Mayo celebration.  It’s a great reason to try out a new restaurant that you haven’t experienced in the area.  Please enjoy the holiday responsibly!

Naples Real Estate market continues in a positive direction

As the 2013 “season” begins to subside here in Southwest Florida, the Naples and Collier County area has encountered the hopeful numbers that many were anticipating.  The market continued to observe increases in the overall median home price (17%), number of overall pending sales (4%), and median closed price (24%) with an 8% decrease in average Days on the Market for the 12 months ending in Market 2013, as reported by the Naples Area Board of Realtors (NABOR).

The number of pending sales increased 4% overall year-over-year, specifically with a:

  • 13% increase in the $500,000 to $1 million category
  • 18% increase in the $1 million to $2 million category
  • 12% increase in the $2 million -plus category

National numbers coincide with our local market as reported by the National Association of Realtors in their February report.  NAR reports that existing home sales and median home prices have increased year-over-year for 20 consecutive months and 12 consecutive months respectively. An interesting discrepancy between national and local statistic appears in our inventory levels. NAR reports an increase in the nation’s total housing inventory while local inventory continues to diminish.  The Southwest Florida real estate market has entered the rebound more rapidly than the nation as a whole, and basic economics has taken effect: not enough Supply to meet Demand.

As a new home community, one of the notable local statistics includes these tightening inventory levels – which experienced a 14% decrease year-over-year in March in Collier County.  While this could potentially prompt homeowners to list their homes in an effort to take advantage of buyer demand and increasing prices, it is also an indicator that homebuilders are ramping up construction in order to meet the shrinking supply and growing demand.

Couple the tightening inventory with the significant increase in the number of pending sales in $500k+ categories, buyers are opting to build new homes versus buy existing homes.  After all, with a limited number of choices (fewer homes to choose from), wouldn’t you prefer to build a new home that can be meet your every want and need? There could be no better solution than to select the features and amenities that fit your lifestyle as opposed to choosing from a shrinking number of options.

Mediterra’s preferred builders, some of Southwest Florida’s leading luxury home builders, are ready to build your custom home in one of Mediterra’s desirable neighborhoods. Spring time and cooler weather on the shoreline of the Mediterra Beach Club

It’s that time of year again! The days are getting longer, and spring has officially sprung.  Though the cooler temperatures are hanging around a bit longer that we usually expect for this time of year in Southwest Florida, our minds are already set on basking in the rays at Mediterra’s private Beach Club located on 200 feet of private shoreline of Bonita Beach, Florida.

The 10,000 square foot, two-story Beach Club of Mediterra offers of an intimate setting for coastal relaxation, with both casual indoor and alfresco dining offering a wide array of food selections.

alfresco dining

The pool features at the Beach Club may be our saving grace for this unusually chilly weather. The pool is heated while also elevated to offer a view of the beautiful sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.

You can also take a dip in the spa or sunbathe in the daylight warmth on the relaxing sundeck.  The breeze may be a bit chillier on the shoreline, but it’s difficult to resist the experience of reclining in private lounge chairs and feeling the soft sand between your toes.

The Beach Club is one of countless exclusive amenities offered at Mediterra.  View more images of the Mediterra Beach Club in the photo gallery.

The highly-anticipated Summer Kitchen addition at the Club is almost complete

Mediterra’s Executive Chef Tyler Field was recently featured in The News-Press’s article Contemporary, classic cuisine at Mediterra in North Naples.  This stunning (and salivating) depiction of flavorful foods that are offered at Mediterra had us wondering about the upcoming and highly-anticipated Summer Kitchen expansion that began late last year.  We wrote a blog about the expansion when construction first began, so you can get a background of what’s to come here.

We’re very eager to announce that construction on the Summer Kitchen is quickly coming to completion.  In fact, the Club will soon be releasing the Summer Kitchen’s menu that is expected to include fresh, innovative selections like brick oven pizzas, seasonal salads, and open air entrees.   And members, keep an eye out, you’ll have an opportunity to sample some of the brick oven pizza offerings before its official opening.

The Summer Kitchen is also in anticipation of the newly announced major renovations that are expected to begin at The Club later this year (we wrote a blog on the renovations projects here). There are a lot of exciting things happening here at Mediterra!

A Recap of the Exclusive Realtor Event hosted at Mediterra

Mediterra hosted an exclusive Realtor Event at the beginning of February offering Realtors the opportunity to be the first to preview luxurious model homes available in the Naples community.  The event went off without a hitch with over 100 Realtors in attendance.  Were you unable to attend?  We’ll take you through a mini- “tour” similar to the tour the Realtors experienced at the event.

Realtors had the chance to mix and mingle in the Mediterra Sales Gallery where the event kicked-off while enjoying a cocktail and appetizers.

From the Sales Gallery, guests were transported via trolleys from one model to the next to experience luxury lifestyle offered in new homes in Mediterra.  The models selected for previewing were each officially opened within the last couple of months.

The maintenance-free villa Girona at Cortile, one model opened for previewing, SOLD not long after the event and its official debut.  Click on the images to view the photo galleries.

The Regency II, a 3,699 sq. ft. single-family estate home located in the neighborhood of Buonasera, opened earlier this year.

The Isabella II offers 3,009 sq. ft. in its Great Room design located in the estate neighborhood of Serata.

Realtors were also able to catch a glimpse of The Eloro and Capriano models currently under construction in Lucarno.

If you were unable to attend the Realtor Event but are interested in a private tour of any of the models at Mediterra, you can contact our REALTOR Liaison/Concierge Terri Speach here.  She would be happy to give you a private tour.

You can view more images from the event in our Facebook photo album here.

The Club at Mediterra announces renovations

The Club at Mediterra has recently announced that it will be doing major renovations to the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse Improvement Project aims to update and expand dining offerings and amenities available to its members, creating even more options for a luxurious lifestyle exclusive to Mediterra.   The renovations will take place in two phases, with Phase 1 expected to start in late April 2013.

Phase 1 will add an open terrace beyond the Grille Room, expand the Bar Terrace to nearly twice its current size, and expand the Summer Kitchen. The highlight of this renovation will be the additions to the popular Tavern Terrace which include high top dining overlooking the golf course, a large Pub Table for sitting up to twelve, and a central fire bowl with soft seating that can be seen from every seat in the Tavern.

Phase 2 will offer “a first” in community amenities in Naples, Florida. In addition to expanding the Ballroom and private “Garden Room,” The Club at Mediterra will be the first to feature a covered indoor/outdoor Atrium just off the Ballroom. This area will allow the Ballroom to open up to the Atrium allowing the dance floor to overflow onto the covered indoor/outdoor terrace area, ideal for temperate spring evenings.

There are exciting changes happening at Mediterra in Naples, and our amenities are constantly improving! Check back to our blog page regularly for updates on The Club expansion.
